Does ATU accept transfer applications?
Students from other Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) applying to transfer to the second or other stage of a programme will be considered subject to places being available on that programme. Applicants must have passed the stage examinations and have achieved the learning outcomes for progression to the ATU programme.
Does ATU accept students with FETAC/QQI Advanced Certificates?
Holders of QQI FETAC Level 6 awards are eligible for consideration for progression to Stage 2 of agreed cognate programmes e.g. Bachelor of Business.
Holders of QQI FETAC Level 6 awards in certain Furniture/Design courses and QQI FETAC Level 6 Advanced Craft Certificate in Cabinet Making and Carpentry and Joinery are also eligible to apply for admission to Stage 2 of the Level 7 programmes in Furniture in Letterfrack-all applicants for Stage 2 Furniture will be interviewed and will have to pass a practical to be considered.
How do I apply?
Application for entry to add-on ordinary bachelor degree or honours bachelor degree programmes, or for transfer to the second or subsequent years of programmes, should be made online HERE
When is the closing date?
Applications will be accepted from early January until the 31st of May. Late applications will be considered for vacant places. Any applications received after this date will only be considered should places remain available.
What documentation do I need?
Applicants must have passed the stage examinations and achieved the learning outcomes for progression to the ATU programme. You must submit a copy of your transcript/award by email to admissions.galwaymayo@atu.ie. ATU will only accept verified transcripts or statement of results containing a College Logo or stamped by the College.
I want to apply for Nursing - what documentation do I need?

I am applying using Non-Irish qualifications-what do I need to do?
If the qualifications you are submitting are not in English, then you will need to submit certified translations of your certificates along with copies of your qualifications in their original language.
When will I be offered a place?
Offers on unrestricted programmes are made on review when full transcripts are submitted subject to available places. Current year students who submit transcripts after the summer sitting will be made an offer subject to available places in mid-July. NOTE: Programmes will commence subject to there being a sufficient number of successful applicants.
Can I do the course part-time?
ACCM (Accumulation of Credits and Certification of Modules) is an innovative scheme whereby modules may be studied on a single module basis. Module certificates are awarded to successful participants and credits may be accumulated towards a full award. The Institute also offers some evening programmes through this scheme. Most full-time programmes at ATU are available on an ACCM basis. For more information contact admissions.galwaymayo@atu.ie.
I don't have a full qualification but I have work/life experience, can I be considered?
Applicants for entry onto our programmes may seek recognition of prior learning based on experience, including learning based on work experience and/or life experience. Such experiential learning maybe recognised for purposes of entry onto a programme or may entitle the applicant to exemptions from some parts of that programme. Applicants must support their claim by providing a portfolio documenting their relevant experience. Please see MY EXPERIENCE
