14 high potential entrepreneurs commence New Frontiers in GMIT
Enterprise Ireland funded programme supports next generation business
A group of people with innovative start-up ideas have commenced the New Frontiers (Phase II) entrepreneurship programme delivered by GMIT at its Innovation Hubs in Galway and Mayo. The group’s business ideas span the Information Technology, Business Services and Retail sectors.
The 14 participants from Galway and Mayo are Eamon Crosby, whose start-up idea Britebiz is an business management tool; Michael Furey, whose business ideas is International IT services; Evy Perez Alvarado, a software system for language schools; Mark Bannon, a tracking device/system; Gerard Owens, job candidate selection assistant; Tara Dalrymple, employee reward and recognition platform; Ciarán Sheridan, cloud software for the retail industry; Kevin McCaffrey, 3D data visualisation software; Johanna Coyne, CRM for specialist publishing houses; Louise Gibbons, internship brokerage platform; Kenneth Deery, financial wealth management; Christine McAndrew, functional food-MARIKO green tea carbonated drink; Liam Horan, careers guidance software platform; and Deborah O’Sullivan, baby clothing product.
Tony O’Kelly, Manager of the New Frontiers programme, GMIT Innovation Hub, says: “106 six new business ideas were submitted to New Frontiers for consideration in 2015, this is a great indication of the strength of new entrepreneurship in our region.”
