GMIT Mayo hosts graduate careers fair (Tues 4 April)
Event open to all students and graduates including the general public
Over 40 employers and recruitment organisations are set to take part in this year’s GMIT Mayo Graduate Careers Fair which takes place on Tuesday, 4 April (11am to 2pm), at the Mayo campus. This year’s event offers a range of free workshops and presentations outlining opportunities for students and graduates at home and abroad.
Employers, professional bodies, third-level colleges and recruitment companies will be among those setting up stands at the fair exhibition in St Mary’s Hall on campus. Some of the organisations that have confirmed their attendance are CIMA, CPA Ireland, Chartered Accountants, CPL Healthcare, Arcon Recruitment, Grant Thornton, Delphi Resort, Employability Mayo, USIT, Voluntary Service Ireland, University of Limerick, Open University, NUI Galway, Sligo IT, nursing recruitment groups, and others.
The event is open to all students, graduates and the general public. Admission is free.
GMIT Mayo Student Services Officer Anne Donnelly says this year’s programme is more extensive than previous years: “We will have a number of workshops taking place throughout the morning on topics such as 'Accountancy Professional Bodies', 'CV Preparation', and ‘International Voluntary Work”.
“It really is a great opportunity for our final year students, graduates and members of the public to learn about new and emerging trends in careers, and the areas where demand is growing for graduates.”
Mr. Michael Gill Acting Head of Centre says “This type of event is very important as our students and graduates can network with the different external agencies. These interactions often open doors to different opportunities for the benefit of all. We are looking forward to the day.”
